Re-Organization

The new year always provides a the perfect opportunity for a restart.  Some people try to eat healthier, exercise more, talk to their family more often (all of which I would like to do this year).  This year, the one thing that I am trying to focus on is organization.  While watching my friend make hot buttered rum on New Years Eve, I noticed her small bottle of nutmeg.  I thought to myself, "I think I have two bottles of nutmeg at home".  It has happened to me numerous times this holiday season that I bought a few spices that I already had.  This wouldn't be such a problem if my spices were organized.  So at that moment I decided that I needed to buy a spice rack.  At around 12:30 am Scott asked me what I was doing and I responded that I was searching on for a spice rack on Amazon on my Blackberry.  It provided some good laughs, but in all seriousness, I need to act more urgently on re-organizing my home.  Our second bedroom closet is so full of "stuff" that my mother-in-law barely has any room to hang her clothes when she comes to visit.

I also began to reflect on the relationships in my life and came to the conclusion that I need to re-organize these as well.  2010 presented many challenges in my relationships: with God, my husband, my family, my friends, and my co-workers. So often I put distractions, like school and trying to make people happy, ahead of these more important relationships.  So this year, I'd like to organize, or really prioritize, my relationships (along with a few things in my house).  I hope to do a much better job than I have in the past, and I believe that if I put God as my primary focus everything else will fall into place.
